Infinix announces that its latest AI-powered imaging technology will be incorporated into its soon-to-be-released smartphones.
Infinix has teamed up with Samsung Electronics to introduce the 108-megapixel AI-Powered Advanced Deep Learning Algorithm (AIADLA), as announced on Thursday. Through this strategic collaboration, Infinix aims to enhance mobile photography by utilizing Samsung’s ISOCELL image sensor hardware remosaic technology. The company seeks to make the “art of photography” accessible to casual users by using artificial intelligence (AI) to improve photo quality, even for those who are not photography experts.
Infinix’s New Imaging Algorithm
Infinix states that its new AIADLA algorithm enhances noise reduction and detail reproduction by leveraging Samsung’s imaging technology. Photos taken even in long-range settings are said to maintain their sharpness and color accuracy. Additionally, the technology aims to improve low-light photography by offering better clarity and detail, while also minimizing noise and distortion.
Leveraging AIADLA technology, users can capture high-resolution images with their smartphone’s primary camera, even from a distance, the company noted. They can then crop and adjust the images as needed without compromising overall quality. The algorithm achieves these results by calibrating with AI during the software mosaic rearrangement process, using a pre-trained image database.
Infinix says this technology will be integrated into its upcoming smartphones, scheduled to debut soon. It is speculated to be featured in the Infinix Note 40X, confirmed to launch in India on August 5. This handset will boast an AI-enhanced 108-megapixel triple rear camera setup.
Infinix’s 720-Degree SphereTech NFC Technology
This announcement comes just days after Infinix unveiled its latest near-field communication (NFC) technology, dubbed 720-degree SphereTech. According to the company, this technology can double the traditional NFC signal range and increase the card reading area by 200 percent.
The company asserts that smartphones equipped with its latest NFC technology can complete transactions by being tapped on the front, back, and top sides.
